Rick John, chief executive officer of Hagan Hamilton Insurance Services, and Bern Coleman, owner of Insurance Exchange in Newberg, have announced Hagan Hamilton's acquisition of the Newberg company. The deal became official May 1.
The Insurance Exchange staff, consisting of Bern Coleman and Sarah Sayre, will continue to serve their clients from Hagan Hamilton's Newberg Office, located at 1556 E. First St. Bern's wife, Janice Coleman, has opted to take retirement.
Bern Coleman purchased Insurance Exchange in June 1983. He described the sale to Hagan Hamilton as a "win-win" for clients and the agencies.
"The transition for our clients will be seamless," he said. "They'll be able to maintain their same policies with their same insurance companies. That won't change.
"Hagan Hamilton represents some different companies than we do and we represent some different companies than they do, so all customers will benefit by having more choices to meet their individual and business needs."
